Common Sense for Lithium Battery Use
1: Do not use non-lithium battery chargers to charge.
2: For lithium batteries without overcharge and over-discharge protection boards, do not overcharge or over-discharge them. Otherwise, they will be completely ruined in one go (note: it’s not a reduction in lifespan, but total failure). New batteries should be charged before use. Lithium batteries must not be overcharged or over-discharged. Stop charging once they are fully charged. Charge them immediately when the battery power is low, otherwise they can easily be damaged or even ruined. (The full charge voltage should not exceed 4.2V, and the discharge voltage should not be lower than 3V.)
3: Right after charging, the battery voltage is usually around 4V. At this point, do not use two batteries in series in a 6V flashlight, as it will burn out the bulb immediately. It’s best to wait 1-2 days before using.
Lithium batteries have a limited number of charge cycles, typically around 500 to 1000 times. Each time you plug and unplug the charger during charging counts as one charge cycle. Each charge cycle shortens the battery’s lifespan.
